In 1925 a diphtheria epidemic breaks out in the isolated Nome, Alaska. The community’s children were at risk unless a life-saving serum could be delivered in time. Many dog sled teams took part in the run to deliver the needed medication. Togo was the lead dog of the team that ran the farthest and most difficult section.
