My First Blog Post

I am not only an artist, a full-time Mom, and an employee at UAF, but also a full-time student. It’s never too late to follow your dreams, including taking the “Writing and the Professions” class. I have genuinely enjoyed this online class, and as my final project, I have decided to start a blog. Maybe someone on the world wide web will take my experience, words, and life and be uplifted by my journey.

In 2020 everyone’s life changed because of Covid. This was a temporary change to some, and life has almost returned to normal. I started down a road that had many unexpected consequences. Some good and some horrific, but I survived, trying to enjoy the good things and learn from the rest. My mantra is one moment at a time, which seems to work.

One fantastic thing that happened was I picked up my paintbrush and started painting again. I was asked to do an art show at a local shop in Fairbanks, featured in the newspaper and on local television, and my career as an artist has taken off. I am blessed by this wonderful opportunity to do what I love and share that with others.
